In PSHE we learned about democracy and what that looked like in the UK. We learned all about Parliament, the Government, the House of Lords and elections. To tie all of our learning together we played a Houses of Parliament board game-we loved it!
Year 5 were visited by the school nurse to discuss our wellbeing and we were given strategies on how to look after ourselves too
Year 3 began their ‘Shell structures’ DT project. Over the course of the half term, we will be designing and creating our very own packaging to hold an Easter crispie cake. We will also be writing persuasive adverts for our cakes in our English lessons.
We began by looking at a variety of different packaging and thinking about what information is held on different types of packaging. This will help us to understand what information must be included on our own packaging.
We also looked at how packaging is put together. We carefully opened a range of different boxes to look at the nets. Some of us thought that the boxes were made of multiple pieces of card and not just one piece!
We also had the chance to use nets to make our own boxes of different shapes and sizes.

Today, we explored pollination and what it actually means. We took on the role of the insects, the pollinators and we dipped our fingers in paint (to represent the pollen). We then walked around the room landing on the different flowers (putting our painted fingertips on the flowers) to represent the insects moving from flower to flower. In the end, we could see that as we landed on a flower, we actually picked up bits of pollen (other colours of paint) from other insects (children).
