Year 3 become geologists

This week, Year 3 became geologists in our science lesson. We were sent a VERY important letter from Sunderland City Council asking us to test a variety of rocks for the new statue they are planning to build in the city centre. We tested if they were scratch proof, water proof and hard wearing. The children loved getting hands on and decided that granite would be the best option for the statue.

Year 5 investigating materials in science…

Today we looked at a range of materials and looked at whether they were magnetic, flexible and an electrical conductor (to name a few!) We had a great time using the circuit components and magnets!


Year 3 Grouping and classifying rocks

Our new Science topic in Year 3 is Rocks & Fossils. We began the topic allowing children to explore a variety of different rocks. The children worked together to group the rocks in different ways. Some children thought about their appearance whereas some thought about their weight. The children really enjoyed working practically today.

Year 1 First Week Fun!

PC Jules is Retiring!

PC Juliet Clark (PC Jules) is sadly retiring this week. She has worked tirelessly for our school and our community and she has been absolutely amazing in her role. She will be a massive miss and we all wish her the very best in her retirement. Good luck Jules!
