Year 4 visit St Peter’s Church

We have loved learning about the Anglo-Saxons in History this term. We have learnt how the North East of England was very important during these times and how St Peter’s Church is the oldest Anglo-Saxon church in England. We enjoyed exploring the church learning about it’s history especially seeing the red stones that changed colour after a fire following the invasion of the Vikings. We learnt what it was like to be a monk, discussed the timeline of the Anglo-Saxons in the North East and even got to ring the church bells!
