Hello and Welcome to Year 1!
In Year 1, we are taught by Mrs Hanna and Mrs Dennison. Supporting us in class is Miss Banks.
Autumn 2025
This first half term, our topic in Year 1 is seasonal change. We will be investigating lots of different stories, as well as going on some autumn walks and creating some beautiful, seasonal art.
In the second half term, we will be learning about war and remembrance then moving on to look at toys, then and now. We are hoping to go on some wonderful trips, ending the term designing our own toys!

Homework
Year 1 will be given log ins for ‘NumBots’, an online platform, enabling children to build skills in understanding, recall and fluency in mental addition and subtraction. Children are encouraged to complete the challenges at home and prizes will be rewarded in school.
If your child has any problems with their homework, please pop in to see us, we are always happy to help!
P.E.
Year 1 will be doing PE on a Thursday morning this term. All children must wear their full school PE kit and trainers or plimsoles. All earrings must be removed at home before a PE day.
Home Reading Books
Year 1 home reading books and spellings are given out after their third reading session in school.
Please keep returning your child’s reading books so we can give you a new one.
