Over the last two weeks our Year 1 children have been learning about the importance of Remembrance Day and the symbol of the poppy. Together, we created beautiful poppy-shaped poems, describing the bright colours and the feelings we have when we see poppies. The children then walked to the Southwick Cenotaph to place our poem there and poppy wreaths to show our respect and gratitude to those who served and continue to serve to keep us safe.
