This week we have been learning about landmarks. We learnt about the different landmarks that are around us and where they are located on a map. We spoke about the surroundings of the landmarks and their location. We went onto the minibus to go and visit different landmarks such as Penshaw Monument, Northern Spire, Queen Alexander bridge and Wearmouth bridge, Hylton Castle and Roker Lighthouse. We used a tick list to mark off which landmarks we had spotted.
In the construction area and outside, we have been building different landmarks. In the creative area we have enjoyed creating lighthouses using junk modelling. We have been drawing our favourite landmark and explaining why this is our favourite.
