Year 2 explored tie-dyeing and printing today in preparation for creating their pouches as part of this half term’s DT and Art project. The children experimented with a range of patterns and shapes, exploring different techniques before choosing their favourites to use in their designs. Everyone had lots of fun getting creative and developing their artistic skills!
This term in computing we have been exploring Microbits. We have learnt they are tiny computers and that we can program using code to make pedometers, night lights and this week play rock, paper and scissors. We had lots of fun writing the code and transferring to the Microbit then seeing if you could beat the computer!
This week year 4 were lucky enough to have a talk with Miss Stronach’s Grandad, Billy, who used to work in the shipyards. He spoke about what his typical working day was like, how long it took to build a ship and how the ships were built. The children were extremely interested and asked a lot of fantastic questions!
In today’s PSHE lesson, we explored the concept of opinions—what they are, why they matter and the importance of respecting the views of others. The children took part in an engaging activity where they were presented with different statements and asked to decide whether they agreed or disagreed, explaining their reasoning. Congratulations to Taylor Ditch from Year 3 for receiving the highest award a Cub Scout can receive. Taylor has completed a range of challenges and demonstrated a variety of skills at his Cubs sessions and has been awarded the Bronze Award. Well done Taylor!
