Last week the Girl’s football team took part in the Jill Scott Cup Finals held at the Beacon of Light. After progressing from the semi-final stage, involving 28 teams, the girls took their place as part of 8 teams competing in the finals.
As ever, we are extremely proud of their achievement. They played extremely well across the three games, with a 0-0 draw to begin and two narrow defeats. Each and every one of the girls showed great spirit, attitude and determination and thoroughly deserved their medals.
Well done girls!
Kia Fox – A true lioness, fearless and brave. Brilliant.
Megan Duke – A calming influence in defence, getting better all the time.
Charlie Brett – Excellent performances in defence and midfield, showing a good eye for a pass.
Jamie-Leigh Doughty – Wonderful. Made many important interceptions and tackles in an excellent defensive performance.
Olivia Scott – Drove the team on and was extremely unlucky not to end up with more goals.
Elle-Rae Raeper – Fast as lightning and got better and better with every minute on the pitch. Superb.
Milly-May Bell – Chased every ball and always made it difficult for the opposition.
Leia Skinner – Full of running, growing in confidence and played ever so well.
