World Book Day is a special day that celebrates the joy of reading and sharing stories. It encourages children to explore books, use their imagination, and discover new characters and adventures through storytelling.
Reception celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite characters. It was wonderful to see so many fantastic costumes, and the children enjoyed talking about the stories their characters came from.
We also took part in an outdoor story trail, where we followed different parts of our class story ‘A Tiny Seed’ around the outdoor area. The children loved moving from page to page and helping to retell the story together.
As part of our activities, we planted our own sunflower seeds. We talked about what plants need to grow and how we will look after our seeds so that they can grow into tall sunflowers. We are excited to watch them change and grow over the next few weeks.
It was a lovely day full of stories, imagination and fun! 📚
