School Council

In our school we believe that every child should have a voice and the School Council encourages our pupils to take an active part in the day to day running of the school.

Our school council is made up of representatives from each class in each year group in both Key Stage 1 and 2. We meet fortnightly every Thursday lunch time with Miss Hetherington and Miss Stronach. Our well-being ambassadors also join our weekly meetings.

At the beginning of every school year all year groups from Year 1 to Year 6 have a class vote to nominate two representatives from each year group.

Our school council members for the academic year 2025-2026 are:

What does the School Council do?

Our School Council are here to make sure that all of the children in our school are happy! We represent the views of all pupils and work together to improve our school.

We ask questions to our class mates and record any concerns, worries, changes or enhancements other children would like to be shared in the next school council meeting to ensure all children’s voices are heard.

We also plan fundraising events throughout the year for different charities and organisations.

School Council Certificates

Every week in our Celebration Assembly on a Friday, the school council hand out two ‘School Council Certificate of the week’ certificates. Both in school and outside of school at play times and lunch times we look for children who we can see are making the right choices, being kind to others and showing respect. We make a list of those children and then nominate who should be chosen to win our special certificates.

What we have been up to…
