Hello and welcome to years 3 and 4!
In year 3 we are taught by Mrs Stephenson, Mrs Pearce, Mrs Hanna and Mrs Foxton.
In year 4 we are taught by Mrs Smith, Mrs Seaman and Mrs Waddell.
We are supported across the phase by Mr Scott, Mrs Simpson, Mr Curd and Mrs Williams.
We have lots of exciting and enriching topics planned this term; year 3 will be exploring the Savage Stone Age, looking at Skara Brae, making their own tools and lighting fires to cook like real Stone Age people! Year 4 are looking at Amazing Africa- from music and dance to habitats and climate zones; we will look at apartheid and the role Nelson Mandela played to stop the segregation. Both year groups can’t wait to get started!
We would like to say a huge welcome to parents whose children have not been in our care before and welcome back to those parents who know us. We would like to thank you for your support and remind you we have an open door policy and are available before and after school if you would like to discuss anything.

Homework and Spellings
All children have a grid with suggested homework activities and should look to complete 1 per week. I addition, children will have 1 piece of spelling homework on a Monday to be tested at the end of the same week. All children are expected to practise their times tables using Times Tables Rockstars-all children have been given their username and password.
As a school, we expect the children to read at least 3 times per week and have their journal signed by an adult. Children should bring their reading book and journal into school daily so they have the opportunity to read with adults in school.
Year 3 P.E will take place on a Wednesday and Friday, and Year 4 P.E will take place on a Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school from a Monday and left in all week as children need a kit to take part in any lunch time or after school clubs.
We have so many P.E. activities that we always need to be prepared!
