Our Golden table rules are very important and embedded within our school ethos during lunchtime. Tickets are given out by lunchtime staff to acknowledge and reinforce positive behaviour from the children and reward them for these efforts. Tickets are chosen on Thursday and winning names are called out over the tannoy system on Friday morning.
The ‘Golden table’ is set up every Friday for 8 children chosen from Reception and 8 from Key Stage 1 with the dining table being dressed with a table cloth, place settings and a mystery prize making lunch a special occasion.
After discussions with children in Key Stage 2 they decided that they would prefer a ‘Fast Pass’ into lunches giving them choice of what time they would like lunch, where and who they would like to sit with in the dining hall. These children are chosen for their efforts by lunchtime staff over the week.
Our lunchtime rules are:
- To use our manners
- To be kind and look after others
- To help each
- To eat our lunch
- To try new foods
