Year 5 went on a trip to Beamish. We participated in an evacuee workshop and discovered what life was like on the home front during the war. We imagined we were alive during the war and experienced what like would have been like during the Blitz and the blackout and even tried on gas masks! We also looked and learnt about Anderson shelters and rationing. We made our own delicious carrot cookies using rationed amounts. We had lots of fun and learned so much about World War 2 and what life would have been like for a kid during the war!
